Biography

Renee Jones is an award-winning teacher, published author and speaker. She teaches English at Lincoln High School in Lincoln, Nebraska. For her, connecting with students is the key to their academic success. She emphasizes building relationships between all members of her classroom to increase student advancement.

Jones was selected to speak on building strong classroom connections at the 2022 South by Southwest (SXSW) EDU national conference in March of 2022.

She is the author of “It Was Always Four,” a memoir detailing her delicate work-life balance as the mother of four young children during the pandemic.

Jones received her Bachelor of Arts in criminology and criminal justice from the University of Nebraska-Omaha. She earned her master’s in educational leadership in 2020 from Doane University.

Jones is the 2019 recipient of the Lincoln Public Schools Inspire Award. She is the 2023 Nebraska Teacher of the Year.
