Biography

Elizabeth Duclos is a third grade teacher at Pembroke Hill School, which serves students in preschool through fourth grade in Pembroke, New Hampshire. She has been an educator for 16 years, teaching first through fourth grades in public as well as private schools over her career.

Duclos possesses a Bachelor of Science in family studies from the University of New Hampshire and a Master of Education in elementary education from the University of New Hampshire. She also earned a certificate from Plymouth State University as a K-12 reading and writing specialist. During her professional career, Duclos has served as an at-large member as well as vice president for the New Hampshire Association for the Education of Young Children.

Duclos believes that fostering a caring environment for her students is at the core of everything she does for her learners. She values and respects their ideas and encourages them to take risks and become leaders in her classroom. Duclos believes that the learning environment should allow students to do the thinking and she creates a positive sense of community where students collaborate to build knowledge, skills and strategies.
