Biography

Roy Biñas Basa’s educational journey and achievements as a remarkable individual reflect a lifelong commitment to the field of education and a relentless pursuit of excellence. He is a ninth through 12th grade natural science and career and technical instructor for the Zuni Public School District in Zuni, New Mexico, serving Twin Buttes Cyber Academy and Zuni High School.

Basa earned a bachelor’s degree in secondary education, majoring in general science; a master’s degree in education, majoring in school administration and supervision; and adoctorate in educational management, all from the University of Negros Occidental – Recoletos. His academic excellence was recognized with awards such as High Academic Distinction and Outstanding in Dissertation. While still engaged in ongoing studies for a Master of Education in special education at Western Colleges, he also earned a Master of Education in natural science from the University of St. La Salle.

Basa is a dedicated educator who has made significant contributions to the field, being recognized with numerous awards and honors from local, regional, national and international organizations. He embraced the idea that teaching is a vocation and not merely a profession or a way to meet financial needs. His pedagogical priorities revolve around fostering an inclusive learning environment where every student’s unique needs and perspectives are valued, ensuring that high-quality education is accessible to all and empowering students to reach their full potential. His story is one of passion, dedication and a deep-seated belief in the power of education to transform lives.
