Biography:

Candice DeAngelis is a dynamic high school Spanish teacher with more than 19 years of experience who is currently teaching at Bedford High School in Bedford, New Hampshire. Although she has taught all levels of Spanish, she found that her teaching resonates within her training through the International Baccalaureate program. Born and raised in New Hampshire, she is perpetually grateful for the opportunities her state has provided. With a love for language, DeAngelis earned her bachelor’s degree in Spanish and secondary education certification from Keene State College. While at Keene State, DeAngelis studied abroad in Santurce, Puerto Rico, at La Universidad del Sagrado Corazón, followed by earning her master’s degree at Lesley University in curriculum and instruction, specializing in creative arts and learning.

Throughout her career, DeAngelis has been a member of the New Hampshire Association of World Language Teachers and American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese. She has presented at various conferences, focusing on project-based learning and student engagement. DeAngelis has also traveled with students multiple times, visiting both Spain and Puerto Rico, with the belief that cultural immersion and appreciation is the best tool for language acquisition.

DeAngelis is known for her energy and ability to create a nurturing and engaging classroom environment where students feel encouraged to step outside of their comfort zones and become the best versions of themselves. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes the importance of taking risks while learning, and most of all, the power of finding the joy in learning.
