Linda Alvarez teaches career and technical education (CTE) business and entrepreneurship at the Windham Regional Career Center in Brattleboro, Vermont. She also serves as a dual enrollment professor through the Community College of Vermont. In her classroom, students do not just study business; they live it. Through real-world projects, such as the year-long Food Truck Business Plan, students design, brand and launch their own ventures, creating 3D models, marketing campaigns and comprehensive business plans that are presented to community leaders and local bankers.
Alvarez is passionate about helping every student discover a path to success. She creates inclusive, hands-on experiences for multilingual students, neurodiverse learners and first-generation college students, helping them see themselves as capable, confident leaders. Many graduates earn 12 college credits, receive college scholarships or start their own businesses.
She holds a Master of Business Administration from Fitchburg State University and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Florida. She is completing the Certificate in School Management and Leadership, a joint program of the Harvard Graduate School of Education and Harvard Business School. Alvarez is certified in CTE business, history and English language arts/reading specialist. She was named the 2024 Brattleboro Development Credit Corporation Partner of the Year and the 2023 Future Business Leaders of America New Advisor of the Year in Vermont.
Originally from Dearborn, Michigan, and Gainesville, Florida, she lives in Brattleboro with her husband, Orlando, their son, Sebastian, and has three grown stepchildren, Genie, Jamie and Joseph.
