Vickiela Wright is a compassionate, creative and accomplished National Board Certified educator with 15 years of experience across multiple content and grade levels. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in education and a master’s degree in reading from Benedictine University in Lisle, Illinois, and earned an Education Specialist certificate in educational leadership from Concordia University Chicago. A strong believer in lifelong learning, Wright actively pursues professional growth through formal education and continuous development.
Wright serves as a fifth grade English language arts teacher, grade-level instructional coach and National Board mentor at McWhirter School in Webster, Texas. In these roles, she is a link between administration and grade-level teams, collaborating to enhance instructional practices and improve student achievement. She supports more than 50 educators annually through the rigorous National Board Certification process, guiding them with expertise in differentiated instruction, professional learning communities and student-centered learning.
Wright's pedagogical priorities include differentiated instruction, inquiry-based learning and social-emotional development. She designs lessons tailored to all learners and integrates technology to enhance digital literacy. Inspired by her great-grandmother and teachers, Wright fosters supportive, empowering environments for both students and educators. Beyond the classroom, she leads the student council and mentoring. She actively volunteers with the Delta Kappa Gamma Society, her church and various community organizations. Her commitment is further demonstrated through presentations at Illinois Reading Council conferences and advanced training at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Wright’s passion for education, technology and collaboration empowers her entire community to thrive.
