In January, CCSSO announced Cat Walker, Christy Todd, Joe Nappi and Missy Testerman as finalists for 2024 National Teacher of the Year.
These exceptional educators from across the country embody what it means to be a teacher leader — they are passionate, innovative and collaborative.
As we approach the announcement of the National Teacher of the Year, we invite everyone over the next week to take a glimpse into the classrooms of Cat, Christy, Joe and Missy and witness how they empower and inspire their students. Across CCSSO’s social media channels, they will also share important lessons they learned from their colleagues.
Join us in celebrating the impact they are making in their schools and communities. Engage in the conversation on social media by following CCSSO on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook and following the #NTOY24 hashtag.
The 2024 National Teacher of the Year Selection Committee said the following about the finalists:
“We are proud to honor teachers across the country, who are inspiring and impacting the trajectory of students’ lives on a daily basis. The finalists for 2024 National Teacher of the Year embody academic excellence and are exemplars of the profession, intentional and thoughtful in their teaching and dedicated to serving all students across a wide array of cultures, backgrounds and experiences. This year’s finalists engage students through connections to the world inside and outside of the classroom, building community, inclusivity and empathy — all worthy of the National Teacher of the Year title.”
We look forward to elevating the four finalists this week and beyond. Follow #NTOY24 for updates.
